There's an entire genre of videos on the internet dedicated to people destroying pricy electronics. It happens every time a new iPhone comes out and it has expanded to other gadgets. Today, one of the links flying around the photography blog world is a man running literally thousands of dollars worth of pricy camera gear under his faucet.
There's nothing to be learned from the video and I'm assuming all of the gear being shown was already hopelessly destroyed before it got its bath, but I still have to wonder what makes videos like this so compelling. I feel like Batman should swoop in and stop him at some point. A faucet pouring into a pro-grade DSLR and an even pricier RED Epic just feels so wrong.
Have you ever gone out of your way to trash some of your broken gear? Seems like it might be a good way to alleviate some of the stress of breaking a camera. And it sure seems to be good for Youtube viewcounts.
